It’s Our Right’s
We really want to empower refugees, the best way to do it is to educate them about their fundamental rights. Also, it’s very important to communicate this information about rights with the majority of non-English speaking refugees and I believe we can use illustrations and art as a media to communicate this message with them. The main purpose of this project is to design books, posters, leaflets and booklet with more simplified texts and illustrations for people who cannot read and understand English.
Why this project?
Open a discussion with refugees about what is freedom, happiness and success Educate refugees, especially disable people and non-English speakers about their rights, laws and support they can receive. Mainly focusing Right to education, work, marriage, faith, LGBT, Same sex, reproductive health (family plan, abortion) and HIV and other coinfections. Providing books, posters, and leaflets about who is refugee, what are their rights. (Diversity, Ethnicity, Disability and Gender Equality) to selected refugee organizations. (if possible, all organizations) Spread the message of “All are having same rights”, “Diversity” and Inclusion. Stop/ prevent force marriages, discriminations and domestic violence within west midland refugee community. Help refugee community to understand gender equality and women have the same rights as men. I believe the best resolution for all above issues to provide materials with necessary information and educate people about their rights.
